More Than a Bicycle

To many people, a bicycle is simply a way to ride.

To us, it is a story.

Long before mass production became the norm, racing bicycles were often built specifically for the rider who would race them. Professional cyclists sought out master frame builders whose skills were known throughout the cycling world. Together they would discuss riding style, racing goals, geometry, and fit. The result was not just a bicycle, but a machine created for one individual.

The relationship worked both ways. Riders searched for the best craftsmen, and the craftsmen often chose the riders they believed could truly bring their work to life.

Every frame carries traces of that collaboration.

A pursuit frame built for speed. A track bicycle shaped for the velodrome. Every detail reflects the ideas, ambitions, and personalities of the people behind it.

What fascinates us most is not only how these bicycles look, but how they feel. The responsiveness of a handcrafted steel frame, the balance of its geometry, and the character developed through decades of history create a riding experience that modern bicycles cannot easily replicate.

Bicycles such as the 1945 Zananni Stayer and the 1987 Battaglin World Champion are reminders of an era when craftsmanship, performance, and individuality came together.

At THE CYCLE CELLA, we collect and preserve these bicycles because they represent more than cycling history. They represent the stories of riders, builders, and a time when every bicycle was created with purpose.

Each bicycle has a story.

We are simply fortunate enough to help preserve.
